Overview
Simon Hirsbrunner authored an article titled “How Switzerland Can Prepare for Brexit” for the Swiss daily newspaper Der Bund. The December 1 article argues that Switzerland has an interest in advocating a return of the United Kingdom to the European Free Trade Association - EFTA. This would ensure the continuity of good trading conditions for Switzerland and the UK, and moreover, the UK would be able to negotiate for access to the existing network of trade agreements between the EFTA states and a range of third countries.
