Overview
On January 1, 2017, the Fair Wages and Healthy Families Act (commonly referred to as Proposition or “Prop” 206) required employers to increase the hourly minimum wage. On July 1, Prop 206 will require employers to provide paid leave to employees in a number of different circumstances.
In December 2016, various business organizations filed a lawsuit challenging Proposition 206. On March 14, a unanimous Arizona Supreme Court rejected that challenge. Prop 206 will continue in effect.
