International Law Advisory - The Denied Persons List has been revised
May 2004Today, the Bureau of Industry and Security (“BIS”) made additions to the Denied Persons List. Pursuant to Section 11(h) of the Export Administration Act, at the discretion of the Secretary of Commerce, a person convicted of a violation of the EAA, IEEPA, or Section 38 of the Arms Export Control Act will not be eligible to apply for or use any export license issued pursuant to the EAA. Section 11(h) also provides the Secretary of Commerce with the discretion to revoke any export license held by any person found to have been in violation of the aforementioned Acts.
The Denied Persons List has been revised to include the following persons:

JASON

SANTA CLARA,
CA,
US
JFD INTERNATIONAL
3370 MONROE STREET,
SANTA CLARA,
CA,
US
These persons should not be involved in export transactions as long as they are on the list.
Companies should update their screening mechanisms to ensure that any existing business relationships or transactions, and any relationships or transactions in the future are in compliance with the revised Denied Persons List.
