Overview
On April 2, 2015, the “P5+1” states (consisting of the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Russia, and China) and Iran reached agreement on a framework for a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) regarding Iran’s nuclear program. President Obama announced the framework agreement in a speech at the White House and via a posting on the White House website. The JCPOA will include relief from nuclear-related economic sanctions, although the particulars of such relief are not known at this time. The United States and European Union likely will make further announcements regarding the JCPOA and the specific sanctions relief involved in the near future.
We will publish an advisory summarizing the JCPOA when more details are available.
