IRS Extends Period for Timely QSEHRA Filings: Today, the IRS extended the period for employers to furnish an initial written notice to their eligible employees regarding a qualified small employer health reimbursement arrangement (QSEHRA) under section 9831(d) of the Internal Revenue Code. Employers were originally required to provide initial written notice by March 13, 2017 (90 days from the enactment of the 21st Century Cures Act). The extended deadline is now at least 90 days after additional guidance regarding the contents of the QSEHRA notice is issued.
