The IRS has published its final set of Form 990 Filing Tips and Frequently Asked Questions providing guidance on Schedule A, Public Support and Public Charity Classification and Schedule L, Transactions with Interested Persons. The questions and answers for Schedule A provide guidance on the public support test, the changes to the regulations, who is required to file Schedule A, and how to report various types of support given to organizations. The questions and answers for Schedule L address the types of transactions that are reportable, the definitions of interested persons and business relationship, and whether certain types of relationships and transactions need to be reported.

These tips are part of a series published by the IRS to help tax-exempt organizations and tax practitioners as they file the redesigned Form 990. An archive of the previous Form 990 Filing Tips is available here.
