Daily Tax Update - February 21, 2012: Corporate Tax Reform Plan To Be Released Tomorrow
ADMINISTRATION’S CORPORATE TAX REFORM PLAN TO BE RELEASED TOMORROW: Senior Administration officials said today that President Obama’s corporate tax reform plan will be outlined tomorrow morning at the Treasury Department. Although specifics of the plan are not available yet, the President’s corporate tax reform plan is expected to contain the principles outlined in the State of the Union Address. The plan is expected to contain a minimum tax on overseas earnings and incentives for manufacturing.
MISCELLANEOUS GUIDANCE RELEASED:
Revenue Ruling 2012-09 provides various prescribed rates for federal income tax purposes including the applicable federal interest rates, the adjusted applicable federal interest rates, the adjusted federal long-term rate, the adjusted federal long-term tax-exempt rate. These rates are determined as prescribed by § 1274. The rates are published monthly for purposes of sections 42, 382, 412, 1288, 1274, 7520, 7872, and various other sections of the Internal Revenue Code.
