Steptoe is committed to fostering a firm culture that is welcoming and supportive to members of the LGBTQ+ community. Pride, Steptoe’s affinity group for LGBTQ+ members and allies, meets regularly to ensure that we meet our goals of inclusion within the firm and support both equality and inclusion in the communities where we live and work. The Pride group brings speakers to the firm to address issues important to the LGBTQ+ community, hosts Pride monthly events, and offers a supportive space for dialogue concerning important LGBTQ+ issues. Steptoe also demonstrates its support for inclusion and equality by dedicating substantial time and resources to pro bono work, including partnering with the Human Rights Campaign and Lambda Legal. The Human Rights Campaign recognized Steptoe’s commitment to equality with a perfect score on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index.
Self-expression and self-identification are part of Steptoe’s professional values, and support of the LGBTQ+ community. One way we’re practicing these values is sharing our preferred gender pronouns within our email signatures.
