Cherie Tremaine focuses on a wide range of customs, trade, and import compliance issues, including tariff classification, valuation, and country of origin determination and marking. She has experience assisting clients with customs and trade issues such as US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) enforcement actions; prior disclosures; antidumping (AD) and countervailing (CVD) duty compliance; AD/CVD scope coverage; and free trade agreements and preference programs. Cherie has represented clients before CBP, the Department of Commerce (DOC), and the International Trade Commission (ITC). She also assists companies conducting internal investigations related to potential anti-corruption and fraud issues, with a focus on Latin America.
While in law school, Cherie served as a legal intern at the Office of the US Trade Representative, Office of the General Counsel. Before practicing law, Cherie worked for an international trade consulting firm focused on the textiles and apparel industry.

Helped secure favorable scope ruling from the DOC stating that certain equipment was not covered by the scope of the AD/CVD orders on Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) from China.
Participated in defense of major steel importer before CBP in connection with allegations of unpaid AD duties and multi-million dollar penalty demand.
Submitted petitions to the ITC on behalf of major chemical importer requesting the inclusion of certain products in the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill (MTB).
