Meihui (May) Xiao focuses her practice on cross-border litigation and international regulatory compliance including corporate compliance, export controls, international financial institution investigations, and Foreign Corrupt Practice Act (FCPA) investigations.
May has experience supporting Chinese companies engaged in litigation proceedings in the United States. She has also assisted a number of Chinese clients including major SOEs with matters related to US export controls and economic sanctions, World Bank investigations, and other compliance matters, such as export license applications, delisting, advisory opinions, and training.
Prior to joining Steptoe, May worked for a US law firm in New York and was in-house counsel for a company in Southern China. Before attending law school, May worked as a human resource development manager at SK Group in Seoul, South Korea.
