Nigel Ray focuses his practice on patent litigation representing companies in US federal district courts, in Section 337 investigations before the US International Trade Commission, and in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He assists clients in all stages of patent litigation from the pleadings through trial, and is experienced in witness preparation, expert and fact discovery, and claim construction. Nigel represents clients in cases involving a wide range of technologies, including smartphones and tablets, GPS systems, communication protocols, HVAC systems and network security devices.
Before joining Steptoe, he served as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark office, examining patent applications in the field of artificial intelligence.
