Overview
(November 22, 2021, Washington) — Steptoe was recently announced as one of 31 employer organizations participating in the Federal Communications Bar Association's (FCBA – The Tech Bar) Diversity Pipeline Program. The program facilitates internship placements, academic enrichment, and mentoring for diverse law students with leading law firms, companies, trade associations, and non-profit organizations in the technology, media, and telecom (TMT) sector.
"Our participation in this program reflects our firm's strong commitment to helping students from historically underrepresented and disadvantaged groups interested in legal careers," said Shauna C. Bryce, Chief Legal Talent Officer & Chief Diversity Officer. "We hope our efforts related to this groundbreaking program will give diverse young lawyers an opportunity to begin careers in the TMT sector."
FCBA – The Tech Bar is a volunteer organization of attorneys and other professionals involved in the study, development, interpretation, and practice of communications and information technology law and policy. This is the second year that the Diversity Pipeline Program, which placed the 19 law students in paid internships with 20 different employers in 2021, will take student applicants.
Steptoe is one of 13 law firms involved in the program and joins 11 corporations, six trade associations and one non-profit organization.
