Overview
(April 8, 2022, Washington, D.C.) — Steptoe & Johnson LLP is pleased to announce that partner Lucinda Low has been selected as the recipient of the American Bar Association International Law Section's 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, during the opening reception of the Section's Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.
The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to Section members who have contributed in an extraordinary way to the Section and whose contribution has had a positive and lasting impact on the Section's mission and goals.
Low served as chair of the ABA International Section from 1996-1997, the first woman to hold that position. Low currently serves as the firm's International Practice Leader, head of the firm's FCPA/anti-corruption practice, and co-heads the International Arbitration Practice. She is widely recognized for her expertise in the anti-corruption field, and currently serves as the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Coalition for Integrity. She is also active in international arbitration, and is a member of the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators and Panel of Conciliators, among other appointments.
The ABA International Law Section is the leader in the development of policy in the international arena, the promotion of the rule of law and the education of international law practitioners. This year's Annual Conference will focus on "re-emergence" – not only from Covid-19, but with the U.S. also re-emerging as a member of the international legal community. Multilateralism and the importance of international law and institutions will be featured prominently throughout the Conference. Steptoe is acting as a sponsor for the event.
