Overview
Law360 has named Steptoe’s International Trade Group an International Trade Group of the Year. In a profile published on January 8, the editors highlight some of the group's successes over the past year including a win for Singamas Container Holdings Ltd. before the US International Trade Commission in an antidumping/countervailing duty investigation, and a victory for the government of Argentina at the World Trade Organization.
"What sets us apart is that the cases we have handled over our nearly 50 years of practice in this field have been some of the most complex, challenging cases ever considered," practice head Susan Esserman tells Law360. "We have been at the forefront of nearly every major legal issue considered under these laws, such as the treatment of privatized state-owned industries under the countervailing duty law and the elimination of 'zeroing' in anti-dumping duty proceedings."
"We have a highly recognized WTO litigation practice and are known for our sophisticated trade policy representations as well," she adds.
The profile notes that Steptoe was the only foreign firm to be selected by the Chinese government to all four of its foreign firm preferred provider lists.
