Overview
Steptoe’s successful defense of Humana before the Government Accountability Office (GAO) was covered by Law360 in an article titled “GAO Rejects Protests Of $58B In DOD Tricare Contracts.” On November 9, GAO denied multiple bid protests challenging a $40 billion contract award to Humana by the Defense Health Agency of the “TRICARE East Region Managed Care Support Contract,” known as T-2017. Under the T-2017 Contract, Humana will continue supporting DoD’s TRICARE program for military families and retirees, and provide support services to 5.9 million TRICARE beneficiaries.
The Steptoe Government Contracts team representing Humana was led by Paul Hurst, along with Peter Wellington, Tom Barletta, and Kendall Enyard, all in the firm’s Washington office.
