Overview
Steptoe’s success for Humana at the US Court of Federal Claims was covered by Law360 in a June 5 article titled “UnitedHealth Challenge of $58B in Tricare Contracts Tossed.” Steptoe assisted the Department of Defense in successfully defending a lawsuit challenging a $40 billion TRICARE contract award to Humana by the Defense Health Agency. After the Government Accounting Office upheld this award in November 2016, one of the protesters, UnitedHealth, continued to challenge – unsuccessfully – the award to Humana by filing a lawsuit at the court.
The Steptoe Government Contracts team was led by Paul Hurst, along with Peter Wellington, Tom Barletta, Kendall Enyard, Mike Navarre, Anthony Rapa, Rebecca Lipe, Nina Thanawala, and Nick Petts, all in the firm’s Washington office.
