Alexis Early Named an American Bar Association Business Law Fellow

(September 14, 2017, Washington, DC) — Steptoe associate Alexis Early has been named an American Bar Association (ABA) Business Law fellow. Ms. Early is one of 20 lawyers nationwide to be selected to the fellows program for 2017.

For 17 years, the fellows program has represented the ABA Business Law Section’s commitment to encouraging the participation of diverse lawyers in section activities. Through the fellows program, young lawyers, lawyers of color, lawyers with disabilities and LGBT lawyers are provided a springboard to substantive leadership roles within the section through special leadership roles, mentorships and subsidized attendance at section meetings.

Steptoe partner Brigida Benitez, a former Business Law Section fellow, supported Ms. Early’s application.

At Steptoe, Ms. Early is a member of the International Regulation & Compliance Group. She counsels multinational corporations, financial institutions, and individuals on economic sanctions compliance, the release of erroneously blocked assets, export controls, CFIUS national security reviews of inbound foreign investments, and the impact of legislation pending before Congress. Ms. Early is a member of the national LGBT Bar Association and was named a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity pathfinder in 2016.
