Overview
On October 18, Steptoe partner John O’Connor received the Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award for his work on the DC Housing Right to Counsel Project, an initiative in which 14 Washington law firms provided pro bono counsel to tenants facing eviction in DC Superior Court’s Landlord Tenant Branch.
The DC Housing Right to Counsel Project is a joint initiative of the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, the DC Bar Pro Bono Center, Legal Counsel for the Elderly, and Bread for the City, and seeks to provide pro bono counsel for unrepresented persons facing eviction from public or subsidized housing in the district.
