Overview
Law360 quoted Pantelis Michalopoulos in a January 9 article titled “Telecom Policy Wish List for 2018.” The article discusses several policy changes that promise new technology strides, more civil public debate and enhanced local cooperation as the new year gets underway. As the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) navigates issues of intense public interest, some attorneys are hoping that government officials will maintain a professional, open dialogue with stakeholders.
Mr. Michalopoulos agrees that clear public dialogue is a worthy aspiration. “I think civil discourse is a good new-year resolution for any year. Whether or not the dialogue has gotten out of hand because of some extremist views expressed on either side, I think it’s a salutary goal.” Mr. Michalopoulos notes that it will be interesting to watch the interplay between court challenges to the FCC’s net neutrality rollback and its merger review rules.
