Steptoe Recruits Construction Partner

Jonathan Raynes has joined Steptoe & Johnson’s London office and will head the firm’s Construction practice.

Jonathan is a solicitor advocate and advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters. He joins from Kennedys, where he was a partner. Prior to that, he spent ten years within the Construction Team at Ashurst. His experience includes acting for numerous clients on a wide range of matters, including litigation, arbitration, adjudication and expert determinations on construction and PPP projects including roads, railways, hospitals, mines, pipelines and offshore oil & gas production facilities.

Jonathan is recognised by Chambers UK in its 2008 edition as a leading lawyer for Construction work and will bring a following of clients including BAA, O’Keefe Construction and Anderson Group of Companies.

Jonathan joins the London property team, which has again been recommended by the UK Legal 500 in its latest edition. In the last calendar year, the team closed over 60 transactions, with a total value in excess of  £2 billion.
