“Successful Defenses in Countering the Government’s Overreaching in the Public Corruption Context,” Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (PACDL) 2017 White-Collar Practice Seminar

November 2, 2017

On November 2, Steptoe partner Brian Heberlig will participate in a panel titled “Successful Defenses in Countering the Government’s Overreaching in the Public Corruption Context” at the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ (PACDL) 2017 White-Collar Practice Seminar. The discussion will focus on Steptoe’s successful trial defense in US v. Ireland, where the district court granted a rare Rule 29 judgment of acquittal at the close of the government’s case, acquitting Mr. Ireland of 79 counts of honest services bribery and money laundering.
