Cassandra Adams is an associate in Steptoe’s New York office, where she is a member of the Intellectual Property Group.

Ms. Adams’ practice focuses on the field of biologics litigation, including pre-litigation counseling and strategy concerning application of the Biologics Act to biotherapeutic development programs, as well as abbreviated regulatory pathway for biosimilars.  She has litigated patent cases in district courts throughout the United States, with a concentration on patent cases arising under the Hatch-Waxman Act.  Representative molecules include antimuscarinics, alpha blockers, birth control formulations, immunosuppressants and acetylcholinesterase inhibitors.  She also has experience with a broad range of other technologies, including wireless communication systems, consumer electronic devices and software. 

Prior to her legal career, Ms. Adams was a research assistant at the Ohio State University Medical Center studying therapeutic uses of oxygen in wound healing and tissue regeneration.
