Filippo Mattioli focuses on EU regulatory law of chemicals, food, and food contact materials.  He advises on REACH, biocides, plant protection products, cosmetics, and food contact materials regulatory compliance, including related contractual and negotiations support. His work also deals with emerging issues, such as nanotechnology and endocrine disruptors. Mr. Mattioli has experience with contentious matters in these areas, having worked on cases before the Court of Justice of the European Union and the Board of Appeal of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). He brings to his work for clients acumen from his legal and regulatory experience at ECHA, where he worked before joining Steptoe, and his experience with intellectual property matters.

Beyond his professional experience, he is actively engaged as a member of a Brussels-based association fostering pro-bono activities in the legal sector worldwide.
