Overview
After transitioning from a successful career spanning 30 years practicing international trade law, George Grandison devotes his time to the firm’s pro bono practice and, in particular, the coordination of the firm's signature pro bono Immigration Project. In this role, George works with Steptoe's pro bono team to provide advice and representation for immigrant children, adults, and families who are victims of human trafficking; violent crime; abuse, abandonment or neglect; or who are threatened with persecution in their home country. On average, Steptoe has more than 50 active immigration representations being handled by lawyers on a pro bono basis firm wide. In addition to his work in the coordination of this Project, George has also provided pro bono legal advice and assistance to the Women's Refugee Commission in its work advocating for advances in federal legislation and improvements in administrative and enforcement procedures aimed at protecting the safety and security of immigrant children and families.
