Overview
Jason Twining focuses his practice primarily on complex civil litigation—especially mass toxic tort liability. Jason crafts dispositive, procedural, and pre-trial evidentiary motions for a Fortune 50 corporation’s nationwide asbestos defense, and regularly analyzes the impact of emerging decisions regarding complex legal issues to inform and guide his client’s strategic approach.
Before joining Steptoe, Jason’s extensive litigation experience included:
- Winning asylum after extensive briefing and evidentiary hearing for a pro bono client subjected to torture in his native country;
- Leading research and briefing efforts in a winning petition to establish new MDL docket in the preferred forum of a client defending multiple class actions in diffuse jurisdictions;
- Drafting winning TRO papers in federal court for a client seeking relief from widescale self-dealing by one of its directors;
- Preparing witnesses for media appearances and testimony before Congress; and
- First-chairing oral argument on successful dispositive and discovery motions.
