With almost 20 years of experience, Mr. Caracappa has appeared in more than 25 Section 337 ITC cases and 50 patent cases in federal courts.  Mr. Caracappa also serves as lead counsel in numerous post-grant review proceedings, including inter partes review (IPR).  Notably, he was one of the first lawyers in the country to file an IPR petition with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) under the America Invents Act when the procedure became available in September 2012.

Mr. Caracappa leads cases involving all areas of technology, including wireless communication devices, flash memory devices, online messaging application software, flat panel displays, navigation systems, online banking, hard disk drives, diamond-like coatings, and software.  He handles all aspects of these cases, including fact discovery, preparation of witnesses, preparation of expert reports and cross-examination of technical witnesses and experts, Markman presentations, and trial.

Mr. Caracappa regularly speaks domestically and internationally on a broad array of patent litigation matters including practicing in the ITC and district courts.  He has coordinated and participated in a number of moot court events and is a sought after expert in the field of intellectual property litigation.
