John E. Frey has extensive experience in all phases of litigation. He represents clients in a variety of matters, including antitrust, bankruptcy, contract, insurance, real estate, and securities. Mr. Frey also conducts internal corporate investigations for large national and international corporations. During his three decades in practice, Mr. Frey has tried cases in both state and federal courts and argued appeals in federal circuit and state appellate courts.

Representative Matters

  • Represent marketing corporation in putative class action under Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) in US District Court, Massachusetts.
  • Represent national bank in litigation concerning "pay-to-play" allegations in New Mexico state courts.
  • Represent global construction company in Delaware litigation concerning contractual disputes with the purchaser of two of the company's businesses.
  • Represented debtor hospital in complex adversary proceedings in Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Illinois, to recover tens of millions of dollars in fraudulent transfers from multiple parties. Wrote and argued two appeals in the Seventh Circuit – one on a contested settlement with other parties and the other on the bankruptcy court's trial opinion.
  • Conducted internal investigation of mismanagement and falsification of environmental records at manufacturing company's production facility.
