Josh Oppenheimer is an associate in Steptoe’s Government Affairs & Public Policy and ERISA practices.

In the Government Affairs & Public Policy practice, Mr. Oppenheimer advises clients on regulatory, legislative, and political issues.  Mr. Oppenheimer works closely with clients to assist them in developing and executing legislative and regulatory strategies on a variety of issues including financial services, retail, and the complex intersection of law and political activity.

In the ERISA practice, Mr. Oppenheimer counsels benefit plans, service providers, and financial services companies in employee benefits law and other ERISA issues.

Prior to joining Steptoe, Mr. Oppenheimer served as a legal fellow for a prominent US senator, as well as an intern for the Honorable Marian Blank Horn, US Court of Federal Claims. 

While in law school, Mr. Oppenheimer served as a senior editor on the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.  He was also named a Distinguished Pro Bono Leader in 2014.  He gained pro bono experience through participation in the Leaders in Education Advocacy and Reform Network (LEARN) and the Criminal Record Expungement Project (C-REP).
