Li Guo is an associate in Steptoe’s Washington DC office, where she is a member of the Intellectual Property group. Her practice focuses primarily on intellectual property litigation. Ms. Guo has represented companies in patent, copyright, and trade secret cases in federal district court and before the US International Trade Commission. She has been involved in all aspects of litigation including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial proceedings. She has drafted pleadings and briefs, coordinated document review, prepared and responded to discovery, worked with witnesses, and been involved in trial preparation.

In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Guo is a registered patent attorney, and has prepared and prosecuted patent applications involving a diverse array of technologies, such as nanotechnology, chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, automotive system, and mechanical device. She has also prepared opinions concerning patentability, patent validity and infringement.

Prior to joining Steptoe, she worked for several years as a policy and intellectual property specialist, supporting patent filings, drafting technology transfer agreements, and analyzing policy issues. She also worked as an engineer in the semiconductor manufacturing industry. While attending law school, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Susan G. Braden at the US Court of Federal claims, and she interned at the Legal Counsel for the Elderly.
