Stanley Kuo handles high-stakes intellectual property litigation before the US District Courts and the US International Trade Commission. He also provides strategic counseling on pre-litigation disputes that aims to avoid litigation. Mr. Kuo has broad experience in trade secrets, IP licensing, antitrust, and export controls.    

Having a deep knowledge of high-tech industries and legal systems in the US and Asia, Stanley uses this unique insight to help clients create strategies that achieve desired business outcomes.

Mr. Kuo has litigated cases concerning a wide variety of products and technologies such as autonomous driving, internet of things, smartphones, smart TVs, LCDs, LEDs, lithium batteries, air bag, carbon and alloy steel, telecommunications, semiconductors, digital imaging, video compression, audio processing, and radio signal processing.

Representative Matters

  • Certain Semiconductor Devices and Consumer Audiovisual Products Containing the Same – Representing complainant Broadcom Corporation in asserting patents related to semiconductor devices and audiovisual products.
  • Certain Carbon and Alloy Steel Products – Won summary determination of no violation for False Designation of Origin for one of largest steel manufacturer in the world, Shougang Corporation, in this high-profile ITC case brought by US Steel seeking to block imports of Chinese steel products into the US.  
  • Certain Vision-Based Driver Assistance System Cameras and Components Thereof – Successfully defended Magna Electronics, Inc. in this ITC case brought by TRW Automotive US LLC involving a road profile prediction patent. The plaintiff withdrew its complaint shortly before the evidentiary hearing.
  • Certain Audio Processing Hardware and Software And Products Containing Same – Defended Realtek Semiconductor Corp. in a multi-patent case brought by Andrea Electronics at the ITC and the Eastern District of New York involving 5 audio processing patents. After filing 6 Inter Parte Review petitions, the case was settled favorably for Realtek.
