President Announces Key Treasury Picks:  Yesterday, the President Trump announced his intent to nominate several key additions to Treasury, including:

  • James Donovan as deputy secretary of the Treasury
  • Adam Lerrick as deputy under secretary of the Treasury for International Finance
  • Andrew K. Maloney as deputy under secretary of the Treasury for Legislative Affairs
  • David Malpass as under secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs
  • Sigal Mandelker as under secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence
  • Brent James McIntosh as general counsel for the Treasury 

White House Confirms Trump Tax Return Information:  Yesterday, the White House confirmed that President Trump made $150 million and paid $38 million (24% rate) in federal taxes in 2005.  The statement came just before journalist David Cay Johnston released President’s Trump’s 2005 tax return on his website and on MSNBC.  The statement also noted that President Trump made “a large-scale” depreciation for construction losses.
