House Ways and Means Committee to Hold Hearing on Tax Reform:  The House Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing on May 18 at 10 a.m. focused on “tax reform policies that will generate economic growth, create jobs, and increase paychecks for all Americans.”
Trump Nominates David Kautter for Assistant Secretary of Tax Policy:  Today, the White House announced it was nominating David J. Kautter of Virginia to be the Assistant Secretary of Treasury for Tax Policy. Most recently, Mr. Kautter was partner-in-charge of RSM's Washington National Tax practice. Previously, he served as the managing director of the Kogod Tax Center at American University and was Director of National Tax at Ernst & Young.
IRS Issues Guidance on Corporate Bond Monthly Yield Curve:  Today, the IRS issued Notice 2017-31 on the corporate bond monthly yield curve, the corresponding spot segment rates under §417(e)(3), and the 24-month average segment rates under §430(h)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code.
