Daily Tax Update - November 18, 2013: Senate Finance to Review Tax Reform Discussion Drafts

SENATE FINANCE TO REVIEW TAX REFORM DISCUSSION DRAFTS:  Tomorrow, the Senate Finance Committee will hold a closed meeting to review tax reform discussion drafts.  The drafts that will be discussed are:  tax administration, international taxation, and the cost recovery method of accounting.

On the outlook for tax reform, House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp said Friday, “Just because the calendar hits 12/31 doesn't change the need for comprehensive tax reform that grows our economy and creates jobs.  Clearly the economy is still the number one issue across the country and this helps go directly at that with a simpler, fairer, flatter tax code that will help grow this economy and create jobs.”

On November 20, the Finance Committee will consider the nomination of Sarah Bloom Raskin to be Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Department.
