Delay in Passage of Tax Extenders May Postpone Tax Filing Season:  In a letter to Ron Wyden (D-OR), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen provided that a decision regarding the tax extender provisions should be made no later than the end of November in order to prevent disruptions and delays to the tax filing season.  The letter noted that the uncertainty related to the provisions “raises serious operational and compliance risks.”
