Given the frequently multinational nature of litigation and regulatory matters, Steptoe’s New York-based lawyers often draw on the talents of respected colleagues located in our six other US offices, as well as our offices in London, Brussels, and Beijing. Our partners offer our clients in-depth experience on a wide range of legal issues, including FCPA/Anti-Corruption, international trade, domestic and international tax, and export controls.
Steptoe’s New York team is committed to its pro bono responsibilities and supports legal, civic, and local community organizations. Our strong tradition of public service involves providing legal services to individuals and nonprofit organizations where legal help would otherwise be unavailable. Recent significant matters have involved representing immigrants seeking political asylum, US Air Force pilots and others who were tortured while imprisoned during the First Gulf War, indigent criminal defendants, and parties to a range of employment disputes, death penalty proceedings, housing litigation, and tax matters.
