Candice J. Kwark

Candice J. Kwark is an intellectual property lawyer and litigates across a variety of technical fields. Her practices focus on patent, trade secret, copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property-related litigation. She handles all facets of litigation, including pre-litigation strategic counseling and due diligence investigations, expert and fact discovery, witness preparation, deposition, discovery and dispositive motion practice, claim construction, and trial preparation.

Candice also has significant patent prosecution and portfolio counseling experience. As a patent fellow, she drafted patent applications in a wide range of industries and technologies and worked with inventors to manage patent portfolios and develop strategies. Candice is a registered Patent Agent.

Candice has experience in counseling rights holders on issues relating to the protection of their rights in copyrightable works, as well as, the prosecution and defense of trademark, trade dress, and trade secret infringement claims.

Additionally, Candice prosecutes and manages trademark portfolios worldwide. She also designs and implements filing and enforcement strategies, counsels clients on trademark and copyright issues, and handles intellectual property transactions including due diligence.

She has a real-world experience in pharmaceutical, biochemistry, immunology, cardiovascular medicine, interactive health technology, automotive, and startup business. During her law school, she has done collaborative research with the Department of Business and the University of Amsterdam Department of Finance. Prior to joining Steptoe, she worked in Seoul at South Korea's largest firm.
