Peter Jeydel authored an article for Export Compliance Manager titled "Ten Years on from 'ECR' – Insights on ‘Specially Designed'" The July 2023 article discusses insights and highlights of the landscape-altering "specially designed" rules in the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), implemented by the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) as part of the "Export Control Reform" (ECR) initiative.
