Shehzad Hasan is of counsel in Steptoe’s New York office, where he is a member of the Litigation Department.

He offers clients broad experience in a variety of litigation matters including insurance, complex mass torts, and products liability.  His experience consists of managing complex litigation including overall strategy, complicated discovery issues, dispute resolution, and negotiating complex structured settlements. 

Prior to joining Steptoe, Mr. Hasan worked for seven years at a major New York law firm where his practice included general products liability, mass torts, toxic torts, tobacco, insurance, securities, and asbestos litigation.

• Representation of a major insurance company in a variety of complex matters
• Representation of a principal tobacco company in states’ actions for recoupment of healthcare costs associated with tobacco usage
• Representation of a major property owner in an insurance coverage action involving a downtown Manhattan building damaged during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001
• Representation of an international computer manufacturer in a products liability putative class action involving a computer design defect
• Representation of several investment banks in consolidated securities class actions involving the bankruptcy of a major telecom company
