Megan advises clients on federal legislative strategies, focusing on health insurance. As a Director in the Government Affairs & Public Policy Group at Steptoe, she excels at navigating complex policy issues, developing strategic communications, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
As a former group director at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Megan has an unmatched understanding of the intricacies of federal health plans and the policy and operations of the Affordable Care Act.
Megan also served as the chief of Market Conduct for Life & Health at the Maryland Insurance Administration and assisted with the formation of the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange. She has been a featured speaker many times for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Health Actuarial Task Force and is a former health co-chair on the NAIC MAWG National Analysis project. Megan has her certification in Market Conduct Management and served as co-chair of Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society (IRES) Joint Market Regulation Forum health track courses.
