The Am Law Daily quoted Steptoe Chair Phil West in an article titled “For Big Law Partners, A Trump Tax Giveaway?” The article, published April 26, discusses details surrounding the tax plan that President Trump announced that appears to cut income taxes for most Am Law 100 equity partners from a 39.6 percent tax rate to 15 percent.
Mr. West declined to cast judgment on the Trump proposal before a more detailed policy is unveiled. Lawyers “make plenty of money. My primary focus is whether it’s good policy, not whether it will put more money in my pocket,” he says.
