Bits of my creation…Is it real? Who Is Responsible for AI Marketing?
AI now writes advertisements, selects audiences, answers customer questions, discusses products, and shapes public claims about corporate capabilities. The legal responsibility still rests with the institution and its decision-makers.
Please join us on Wednesday, September 9, for the next installment of our AI, Data & Digital Roundtable series where we will examine how securities laws, FINRA rules, consumer standards, privacy requirements, and corporate disclosure obligations apply when broker-dealers, investment advisers, and public companies use AI in digital marketing.
Through practical examples involving chatbots, personalized promotions, social media, synthetic endorsements, and AI-related product claims, the complimentary CLE-eligible program will show where marketing becomes a recommendation, where automation creates misleading statements, and where weak controls expose firms to enforcement risk. The session will conclude with a practical governance framework for review, testing, supervision, recordkeeping, vendor oversight, and escalation.
