On December 20, 2024, after years of anticipation, the Department of Justice finally released new proposed regulations with the goal of modernizing the application of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).
Join Steptoe's FARA team on Wednesday, January 8 for a timely analysis of the new proposed regulations and how they may impact your business and your practice moving forward. Among other topics, we will address new definitional thresholds that will impact who needs to register, the scope of certain widely used exemptions (including limitations on the "commercial" exemption and an update to the legal representation exemption), information required to be made public, and how registration may change.
The Steptoe team just released its initial analysis of the proposed regulations today. Please click here to view our Political Law Blog.
