Overview
Carolyn Breckel prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the field of life sciences. She works on a variety of technical areas including cancer immunotherapy, infectious disease vaccines, pharmaceutical formulations, and antibody therapeutics. In addition, she performs analyses relating to patentability and freedom-to-operate, as well as patent strategy and IP due diligence matters.
Carolyn holds a Ph.D. degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry. During her graduate career, she studied the ubiquitin-proteasome system and the various fundamental molecular interactions that facilitate targeted protein degradation in cells. As an undergraduate, Carolyn served as an Honors Intern at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), working within the Laboratory Division and the New York City Counterterrorism Unit.
