Overview
Lisa Coward supports litigation teams in complex intellectual property matters including patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, and unfair competition in jury and bench trials in federal district courts at the appellate level. She assists with international arbitration and Section 337 investigations before the International Trade Commission (ITC).
Lisa's activities include interviewing clients for pre-suit due diligence, conducting electronic and paper discovery using in-house and outsourced litigation support staff, supervising document reviews, participating in discovery disputes, privilege review, and drafting privilege logs, document holds, electronic storage agreements and collection protocols.
Her experience includes all areas of technology ranging from start-up biotech companies to major US and European chemical and pharmaceutical houses, hardware manufacturers, and software developers. She is also experienced in domestic and foreign patent application preparation and prosecution; copyright and trademark preparation and registration; patent validity and infringement opinions and freedom-to-operate studies; merger and acquisition IP due diligence, and IP portfolio management.
Lisa began her technical career as a project manager at a telecommunications company and subsequently entered the intellectual property area as a patent examiner in the cellular telephony arts at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
