Overview
Zihan Chen focuses his practice on conducting independent and internal investigations for multinational companies operating in China and across Asia. He has extensive experience advising both US-based and international clients across industries such as technology, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and fast-moving consumer goods on regulatory compliance, cross-border disputes, and enforcement matters. Zihan assists companies in addressing compliance challenges, including matters related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and supports the development and implementation of compliance programs tailored to business operations spanning China, Asia, and the United States.
Before joining Steptoe, Zihan gained experience conducting internal investigations, addressing compliance risks, and managing enforcement-related issues as part of the litigation team at an international law firm. Earlier in his career, he worked at a leading Chinese law firm, where he focused on commercial litigation, arbitration, and internal investigations. His background equips him to provide practical advice to clients navigating complex regulatory, compliance, and enforcement challenges across Asia and the United States.
