Overview
(December 20, 2021, New York) — Steptoe partner Beth Tractenberg has been named to Crain's New York Business's 2022 list of "Notable Women in Law." The list recognizes lawyers who serve as role models or mentors to other women attorneys, promote inclusive workplace practices and lead professional organizations and civic/community service initiatives outside of the firm.
A partner at Steptoe since 2015, Tractenberg is largely responsible for establishing the firm’s Trusts and Estates Practice Group. As the co-chair of Steptoe's Tax Group and head of the firm’s Private Client practice, she guides high-net-worth individuals, families, and fiduciaries in international and domestic estate planning, contested matters, estate administration, the creation and advising of exempt organizations and drafting and negotiating prenuptial agreements. She also provides comprehensive tax, personal, and business advice to families, working closely with family offices and other advisers.
Outside of her practice, Tractenberg has played a leading role in numerous arts organizations throughout New York, including the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, LaneCoArts, Lincoln Center and the Art for Healing Foundation. Recently, she joined a committee for Delivering Good, a non-profit organization that provides at-risk children and poverty-impacted families with goods and merchandise. She is also a director of the A Woodner Fund and a trustee of the Little One Foundation.
