Chemical Watch quoted Michael Boucher in an article titled, "Industry Groups Challenge TSCA Reporting Rule Seeking Health and Safety Studies." The article discusses a lawsuit filed by four industry groups over a TSCA rule requiring the submission of unpublished health and safety studies for 16 chemicals.
Speaking about ways to halt the process, Boucher says, "With only days left before submissions are due, industry petitioners could ask the court to issue a 'stay' of the rule to pause the deadline as the legal proceedings play out. Their request would need to explain, among other things, factors such as the likelihood they would win the legal challenge and what kind of harm they would suffer without relief. Alternatively, the EPA could choose to act on its own."
