On February 16, Chemical Watch quoted Joan Baughan, Daniel Rubenstein and Seth Goldberg in a piece titled, "Europe's proposed PFAS ban could boost US state-level prohibitions." The article discusses the European PFAS restriction proposal, and compares it to action in US states to either require disclosure or identify alternatives for consumer goods and packaging containing the substance class.
With regard to the potential US response to the restriction of PFAS, Baughan, Rubenstein and Goldberg noted that "while states looking to act on PFASs may cite EU initiatives for support, the basis for action or inaction will always be local".
