Overview
Cybersecurity Law Report quoted Anne-Gabrielle Haie in an article titled "AI Meets GDPR: EDPB Weighs in on AI Models." The article discusses, the European Data Protection Board's (EDPB) opinion issued in December 2024, addressing some data protection issues related to the development and deployment of AI models.
Speaking to Cybersecurity Law Report about the EDPB’s opinion Haie said: In its Opinion, "the EDPB emphasized that each controller, whether developing the AI model or deploying it, must ensure the lawfulness of its processing activities. This entails comprehensive compliance checks before the development or deployment of an AI model, including a thorough assessment to ensure that the AI model was not developed by unlawfully processing personal data. Such an assessment involves evaluating the source of the data set used to train the model and any known infringements determined by supervisory authorities or courts."
