(May 28, 2020, Washington, DC) — Steptoe associate Daniel Rubenstein has received the 2020 Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers' (IISE) Outstanding Middle Career Leadership Award for Business and Industry. The award recognizes individuals working in industry who have excelled in their role as a practicing manager/leader within their organization and who demonstrate outstanding contributions for making significant impact utilizing their industrial engineer skills and abilities above and beyond the ordinary expectation of their position.
At Steptoe, Rubenstein provides strategic counseling to industry regarding regulatory compliance requirements for food packaging materials and food ingredients across the globe. As an industrial engineer with a background in medical device manufacturing, Rubenstein provides clients with timely and actionable advice regarding critical regulatory decisions that drive product innovation, marketing, and promotion.
Rubenstein leverages this experience to assist companies in proactively establishing compliance for products under the laws and regulations administered by the US Food and Drug Administration and is also familiar with food contact material regimes in the European Union and jurisdictions throughout Asia and South America. He uses his technical background and internal auditing experience to assist clients to prevent and – when necessary – respond to product contamination and recall situations.
